The scarves for this project came not only from near me in Perth, Western Australia, but also from places all over the world. I got really happy about the idea of people all over the world caring enough to take part in the project and make or donate a scarf (or several) to women they had never met, just because they knew there was a need. I wanted the women to see this also, and to be able to see all the places the scarves had come from. The easiest way I could think of doing this and avoid translations, was to colour code a tag that would be attached to each scarf, that would correspond to a coloured location on a map (the scarf’s origin) that would go with the scarves. It is not a perfect system, but I think it will do the job. Here is how it played out…
Scarves from Perth – blue tag.
Perth on the map – blue dot (or rather, smudge!).
And so on!
